We are a huge fan of clean lines and simple silhouettes. But we’re also all for those dramatic touches that can bring that “wow” factor to a wine cellar project. So when these two design concepts are combined and balanced out, we’re positive something amazing will happen. And we definitely called it! Check out this beautiful Tech Tuesday that our team completed for a client in Atlanta, GA:
Project # 310906
Wood: Custom /All-Heart Redwood
Bottle Capacity: 494
Where: Atlanta, GA
This is a full-on custom wine storage designed for the client’s small but versatile collection. The racking assembly is divided into two main sections: the individual bottle columns with displays and customized cabinets at the bottom. With this set up, the client can showcase their wine bottles, but they’ll also have room for bulk storage below. They can also store other items in the cabinets, such as glassware. Notice that the layout is very simple, but it addresses all of the client’s needs. There is even a nice countertop that can serve as a prep station.
Since the design was pretty straightforward, our team also decided to give more character to this project with the help of stains and finishes. The wood option for the racks is All-Heart Redwood, so it was absolutely a gem to work with. All-Heart Redwood is one of the top wood choices for custom wine cellars. It comes exclusively from the center of the log and is consistently in the reddish hues. Of all North American woods, it is the most resistant to moisture, mildew and rot. For those reasons it was used in subterranean wine cellars before mechanically climate controlled wine cellars were invented. Above all, it’s SFI-certified!
In order to really bring out the beautiful grain patterns of the wood, our team went with the Midnight Black Stain option. The jet-black color exudes elegance and character. It is indeed a welcome departure from traditional woodworking finishes. Thanks to this stain option, the racks boast of a bold simplicity that is attractive and memorable. We are certain that this compact wine storage will leave an impact our clients’ guests who will be seeing it soon. Naturally, we cannot wait to see how the cellar will look when it’s all filled up. We will definitely be sharing snaps of that as well, so stay tuned! *Cheers*
